School that looks Beyond

Dr. Graham’s Homes stands out among educational institutions, proudly preserving the legacy and ideals of its founder, Reverend Dr. John Anderson Graham. This sanctuary of hope and love confidently embraces future challenges while remaining deeply connected to the dream that inspired its inception over a century ago. Committed to fostering strength of character, self-esteem, and confidence, the Homes aims to empower its students to “walk this earth with dignity” and contribute positively to society.

Campus and Facilities
Spread across 600 acres with the school at its heart, Dr. Graham’s Homes includes numerous departments such as the workshop, farm, estate, bakery, central kitchen, and hospital, all serving the needs of over 1,500 students. The Lucia King Cottage cares for preschool children and infants, while additional facilities include a library, museum, gym, and art room. The Katherine Graham Memorial Chapel adds spiritual serenity, completing the holistic environment that the Homes embodies.

Located atop the scenic hills of Kalimpong, the campus features two football fields, a swimming pool complex, three basketball courts, and ample space for children to play and interact. The unique Cottage System of boarding provides a home-like environment, with seven cottages for girls, ten for boys, and two hostels for senior students. Each cottage houses 35 or more students, where staff are affectionately called ‘Aunty and Uncle,’ and students participate in household chores, motivated by the school motto , “Thorough“.

Music is a significant strength, showcased by the acclaimed Homes’ Choir, which performs annually at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Kolkata and other venues. The Choir’s performances, both in India and abroad, have earned high praise, including a notable tour of the U.K. in 2007 and a visit to Japan in 2006.

As the Homes moves into the 21st century, it remains true to Daddy Graham’s vision, continuing to care for children and preparing them to face the future with confidence—academically, spiritually, physically, and emotionally.
